After David Ruy’s introduction, Soomeen Hahm discusses her work in augmented reality construction techniques, including, “Steampunk pavilion” (2019), “2021: A Steam Odyssey” at the SCI-Arc Gallery, and “Augmented grounds” at the International Garden Festival (2020) and an indoor installation version for Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism (2021).
Casey Rehm discusses a 2021 project exploring how smart city technology can engage both the street level and the masterplan level, instigating a radical densification and re-wilding of Seoul. He concludes with a discussion of how the neural networks employed in the design of the “Desert house” (2018) continue to inform new work.
