After Hernán Díaz Alonso’s introduction, Minsuk Cho describes in detail seven of recent Mass Studies’s projects, each responding to challenging natural or artificial environments:
•A multi-story building in a narrow L-shaped site for their own office and other creative firms in Seoul
•The Seoul Cinematheque in Seoul’s Chungmuro district
•A composite office, gallery and park
•A dormitory for Daejeon University
•Social housing built on top of an existing flood control station
•Renovation of the Danginri Power Station into an art center, public space, and bird-watching platform
•A collaboration with Jae-Eun Choi exploring the nature refuge created by the North Korean demilitarized zone
