As part of his Fall 2009 Blow x Blow installation in the SCI-Arc Gallery, Joe Day hosts a discussion with artist Andrea Fraser, and art historian Rhea Anastas and curator Bennett Simpson. Andrea Fraser briefly introduces her three videos being screened in Day's installation: "Museum highlights: a gallery talk" (1989), “Little Frank and his carp” (2001), and Soldadera (scenes from Un Banquete en Tetlapayac, a film by Olivier Debroise, 1998/2001). She and Simpson and Anastas discuss the aesthetics and politics of video presentation in museums. A discussion of Fraser's video response to the Guggenheim Bilboa, prompts a discussion about the context of that project, and contemporary museums--and museum discourse--in general.
