Abraham Zabludovsky & Teodoro González de León (November 5, 1980) Part 2 of 209:07

During a Q&A, Abraham Zabludovsky comments that steel is more expensive than concrete in Mexico, and, regarding thin shell construction, de León states, “It’s unfair people forget about the work of Félix Candela.” Photographer Julius Shulman asks Zabludovsky and de León if Mexican architects are currently influenced by past architectural styles. De León responds they are, but not in the same, formal way of architects in the U.S. Zabludovsky quotes painter, Rufino Tamayo; “Art is universal and only an accent is local.”
