After being introduced by Norman Millar, Hak Sik Son presents a series of projects in California and Korea. They vary in scale from single family residential remodels and to mass housing, to urban design proposals. Many projects involve creatively responding to context, transforming parking and office buildings to mixed-use functions with greater street engagement, or organizing a home around existing trees. At larger scales, his proposals may retain existing elements even while creating a major overhaul of a region by shifting emphasis.
