SCI-Arc EDGE Design Theory & Pedagogy alumni speak about the unique one-year platform that is the MS Design Theory & Pedagogy Program and how it enabled them to formulate their pedagogical positions and current career trajectories. James Piccone, Richard Mapes, Justin Doro, and Jon Penvose discuss the projects, research and pedagogical models they developed in the context of the Design Theory & Pedagogy program at SCI-Arc. Their work touches on creating more inclusionary spaces for knowledge production; the role of live, volumetric modeling in producing new forms of spatial inhabitance; architectural responses to environmental preservation; and the development of platforms for connecting and curating different workflows, aesthetic packages, and references throughout the research and design process.
