Augusto H. Álvarez discusses the development of architecture in Mexico, and the limitations with materials and technology. Álvarez talks about his preference for using glass, and glass walls. Álvarez talks about his collaboration with Juan Sordo Madaleno on the Bancomer building in 1976, in Mexico City. Getting up from the audience, Juan Sordo Madaleno himself explains how they humanized the large-scale office areas for 8000 people, creating interior green space, and addressed the need for natural light, and ventilation. Madaleno describes details of the building plan, construction, and materials. He points out the glass façade serves as a shell and is not attached to the building. Madaleno concludes by expressing the importance of communication.
