Jeffrey Schnapp: Recycled architectures Masterclass (March 15, 2017)01:26:57

Jeffrey Schnapp characterizes his work with the Harvard MetaLab as “knowledge design,” that creates projects that propose how knowledge could or should look like in the 21st century. He discusses several projects that re-imagine workshops (Beautiful Data), course catalogs (Curricule) and archives (The Life and Death of Data) as databases. He discusses experiments using print books as nodes rather than ends (Expanded Reprint and Cold Storage), and enhancing the direct experience of museum objects with data about the objects (Lightbox Gallery). Schnapp concludes with a presentation of Piaggio Fast Forward’s intelligent cargo vehicle Gita.
