Gilles Retsin: Lecture01:06

SCI-Arc welcomes Gilles Retsin to the Keck podium. Retsin is Program Director of the B.Pro Architectural Design M.Arch course at the Bartlett School of Architecture. He is an architect and designer whose work explores the impact of computation on the core principles of architecture. Retsin’s Lecture “Bits and Pieces: Discrete Architecture” presents a body of work and thinking that is based on a computational understanding of the discrete part or bit. Retsin’s work proposes that a digital form of assembly, based on parts, contains the greatest promise for a complex, open-ended, adaptable architecture. This approach capitalizes on the digital economy and automation, with the potential to democratize production and increase access. Please join us for the lecture in the Keck Auditorium or link to the livestream at sciarc.edu.
